Field Trips
Off the Wall Gallery Adventures
COCA’s Off the Wall Gallery Adventures are field trip opportunities designed to engage students with hands-on art experiences tying visual arts to language arts, communication skills and physical education. These interactive field trip programs start with the exciting contemporary art featured in the Millstone Gallery at COCA and integrate your students’ gallery experience with multidisciplinary hands-on workshops. Each adventure begins with a customized packet of pre- and post-visit materials containing background information on the artist, their inspiration and the media in which they work. Also included are suggested activities that you can do in your classroom to prepare your students for their Off the Wall Gallery Adventure.
Show-Me Standards & Goals: Fine Arts 1, 2, 3, 4, Communication Arts 4, 5, 6, 7, Health/Physical Education 4; Goals 1,2 & 3.
