Inspiring Leaders
Developing Dynamic Leaders
No matter what your profession, this workshop empowers you to be the confident leader that today’s companies require. Using current cultural research and the actor’s toolkit, professional actors/teaching artists help you discover the “character of your best self” by uncovering your strengths and communication skills. You learn how to better use your voice and body language, to shape both people’s perceptions of you and your own perceptions of yourself. Experiment with authentic leadership presence, feedback techniques, networking tricks, and hone your presentation skills.
High-Speed Creativity
Leading a Collaborative Culture
As a leader today, it is important that you create a culture that is both highly adaptive and reflects balanced participation from your staff. Improvisational theatre is an art form that demands active listening, spontaneity, being “present to partners,” and the ability to accept unexpected “offers” while building on one another’s ideas to create a performance. Participants in this workshop will practice improvisational theatre exercises and reflect on discoveries relevant to business leadership. Through the work, they will break through internal obstacles to achieving collaboration, communication skills, and risk taking.
Directing the Action
Providing Feedback and Inspiring Change
Providing effective coaching and feedback to teams is a key skill in leadership practice. To be successful, managers and staff need to have a common frame for giving and receiving both positive and negative feedback. In this workshop we will practice observation and effective communication through acting/directing exercises focused on critique and supplying feedback. We will then debrief our experiences to create an action plan for management practice.
