Beyond COCA: Students Over Summer 2024

This past summer, our COCA pre-professional artists engaged in various programs outside of COCA, showcasing their talents and dedication across the broader artistic community. It’s important to celebrate their achievements here at COCA and recognize their accomplishments with other organizations.

We sat down with five of our Pre-Professional Division students—Lexie Kummant, Parker Collier, AJ Bentley, Dwight Erdmann, and Kameron Henry—to hear about their exciting summer experiences.

Lexie attended a five-week dance intensive with the Kansas City Ballet. Parker wrote a play through COCAwrites, which was selected for a mainstage production at Webster Groves High School. AJ participated in The Muny Teens program and performed in In the Heights and Anything Goes. Dwight participated in a six-week ballet intensive at the Chautauqua Institution in Buffalo, New York. Kameron participated in The Muny Kids program and performed in The Little Mermaid and In the Heights.

This summer, these students’ hard work and dedication reflect the passion and commitment that define our COCA students. We can’t wait to see how these experiences shape their participation at COCA throughout the fall semester and beyond!
