Any patron trying to register once a camp has started will need to go to the Registration Office.
Credit Card Surcharge
A surcharge of up to 3.25% of the total transaction amount is applied to all credit card payments.
Transfers
COCA offers the opportunity for campers to transfer to another camp if space is available. Transfer forms must be submitted before the start of the first affected camp. The Registration Office will contact the family if there is a difference in tuition.
Withdrawals
Tuition will be refunded, less a $25.00 processing fee per camp, if a withdrawal form is submitted by the deadline:
- DEC 1 | Winter Break Arts Camps
- MAR 1 | Spring Break Arts Camps
- MAY 1 | June Camps
- JUN 1 | July and August Camps
The withdrawal deadline for transfer/account credit for Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Arts Camps is the Friday prior to the first day of the individual camp in question.
Waitlists
For camps that have reached their maximum capacity, students may choose to be placed on a waitlist. To be added to a waitlist for a camp, contact the Registration Office at registration@cocastl.org. Students will be contacted if a vacancy in the program arises.
Cancellations
In the event that enrollment does not reach the required minimum students or circumstances arise beyond COCA’s control, COCA reserves the right to cancel a camp. Students will be notified, and the registrars will recommend a suitable replacement camp. If no replacement can be settled upon, COCA will refund your tuition fees in full, less any non-refundable fees.
In the Event of Closure
If inclement weather, a power outage, or unforeseen circumstances necessitate the closing of any COCA program, COCA is not responsible for providing a make-up session, credit, or refund. COCA provides information about closings via text messages, local media outlets, cocastl.org, and phone at 314.725.6555.
Sliding Scale Tuition for Camps
COCA offers a sliding scale tuition program for qualifying students.
Registration Fee
COCA charges a non-refundable annual registration fee of $30 per person. The registration fee will be automatically added, annually, to your online order, when it applies. Students can be waitlisted online without being charged the registration fee.
Payment Plans
COCA offers convenient payment plans for Summer Arts Camps. A 20% down payment, $15 seasonal payment plan set-up fee, and the annual registration fee are required upon registration. Your credit card or checking account will be automatically billed in equal payments on the dates listed below. For registrations after March 1, previous payment plan installments also will be due at the time of registration. All registrations after April 30 must be paid in full at time of registration. All payment plan registrations must be paid in full by June 1.
Dates of Automatic Withdrawal for Payment Plans:
- Summer Arts Camps | MAR 1, APR 1, MAY 1, JUN 1
It is COCA’s policy to charge a $25 processing fee for any returned payments (checks or credit cards). Those whose payments are returned may lose the privilege to pay via check, credit card, and payment plans.
Financial Obligation
COCA reserves the right to suspend or terminate instruction and performance participation for students who do not meet their financial obligations. Students are liable for the full cost of tuition. Students with outstanding balances will not be allowed to re-register until the balance is paid in full.
Important Dates & Deadlines
DEC 18–20 | Winter Break Arts Camps
Health-Related Needs/Accommodations
If your camper has health-related needs, such as allergies, special dietary needs, hearing or visual impairments, chronic illness, medical concerns, or developmental variations, note them on the Registration Form or contact the Registration Office. Medical authorization is required from a physician for campers who require to take or carry medication during the camp day.
Inclusion Services
COCA has highly experienced teaching artists on staff who lead group instruction for 10–20 campers each day. COCA’s teaching artists are prepared to make accommodations within their instruction to timing, directions, physical activity level, and/or complexity to help students succeed.
Parents/Guardians are asked to notify COCA during the online registration process or by contacting the registration office at registration@cocastl.org or 314.561.4898 to request accommodations. COCA staff will follow up on all requests to craft the best plan of action and arrange for reasonable modifications or services necessary. Notification of needed services is key to create a positive experience for all campers.
Campers who require the one-on-one support of an assigned aide or para may bring their own support person, provided that person passes a criminal background check and is fully vaccinated.
COCA’s inclusion model works well for campers who:
- Are able to participate in and enjoy group activities with limited breaks
- Are able to understand/follow directions, with help and reminders
- Can adapt to multiple transitions each day with prompts and coaching
Campers who should consider attending COCA camps with an aide (provided by their families):
- Require 1:1 support during the school year to assist with directions or transitions
- Have a tendency to run away or withdraw during group activities
- Need help with self-care; COCA staff are not qualified/licensed to assist with toileting students
COCA’s camp model does not support campers who:
- Are unable to be successful in groups much of the day
- Have aggressive/violent behaviors or self-injure
