COCA Implements New Position to Strengthen Artistic Strategy & Programs

Shawna Flanigan, Senior Director of Artistic Strategy & Programs

Shawna Flanigan, who has been a vital part of the COCA team for 23 years, is stepping into a new role as Senior Director of Artistic Strategy & Programs. In this position, Shawna will oversee our voice, theatre, and dance programs, as well as our production team, art & design, and galleries.

With COCA returning to pre-pandemic attendance levels, this new role allows Shawna to focus more on arts programming and strategic planning. Her forward-thinking approach aims to develop sustainable programs that offer comprehensive artistic education and broaden COCA’s community impact.

Shawna’s dedication to COCA is evident from her previous roles, including Artistic Director of Theatre, Director of Arts Education & New Program Development, and Urban Arts Director. Her leadership has been instrumental in the growth of our artistic programs over the years.

Alongside this exciting update, we’re also delighted to unveil the COCApresents 2024–2025 season! Our signature performance series returns with a lineup of innovative and captivating productions for all ages, showcasing remarkable talent from local, national, and pre-professional artists.
