COCA’s Leading Ladies leadership training program empowers female-identifying leaders to refine their personal leadership style and brand in today’s dynamic professional landscape. Past participant Courtney Clark, Director of Operations at Big Rush Marketing, enrolled in the program at a time when her business was growing and she was stepping into a leadership role with a nonprofit organization. She looked to Leading Ladies for a fresh perspective on leadership, providing outside-the-box training that she could learn from and apply to future leadership roles.
Leading Ladies is a transformative experience that utilizes multiple arts disciplines to help participants to expand their creativity and develop effective leadership skills. The arts-based approach empowered Courtney to strengthen her leadership style.
Through an improv exercise, she honed her active listening skills, which she strives to embody as a leader and promote within her team. “When you’re doing improv, you have to really be paying attention and listening to your teammates. And that was something that I’m going to take forward in my leadership positions.”
Participants were engaged in a circus session that helped Courtney see challenges in a new light. “We were doing new things that we had never done before…Everyone around me on my team was there for me—wanting me to succeed and wanting me to learn and try something new.”
Courtney encourages other women in the community to enroll in the program. “They’re going to do something creative. They’re going to do something wild that you never thought of before. That’s what makes you grow and that’s going to set you on a path that you’ve never maybe thought about before.”
The program provides participants the opportunity to build relationships with other female-identifying leaders who are there to support you.
